Meals

Exploring Tanzania truly comes alive when you eat like a local. Included in your program fee are your main meals, lovingly prepared by the in-house mamas, immersing you in the rich, authentic flavors of Arusha.

Our collaboration with international volunteers ensures that meals are predominantly Tanzanian, offering an authentic culinary experience. This approach helps you fully engage with the local culture through its cuisine.

We accommodate various dietary preferences, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Please specify any dietary needs in your application to ensure we meet your requirements from the start.

While the number of meals provided may vary by program, the fee generally covers three meals daily: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with evening soup and snacks, seven days a week.

Breakfast typically includes eggs, bread with butter and jam, pancakes, fruits, and beverages like tea and coffee. Lunch and dinner feature a mix of meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits, accompanied by staples such as rice, potatoes, pasta, and fries, all enhanced with traditional Tanzanian sauces and stews.

We take food allergies seriously and are committed to adjusting meals to accommodate any specific requests.
